NYC is hosting WorldPride, so we are celebrating with TWO classes! AND we are bringing this special event to Boston for the FIRST time during Pride Month!

All levels welcome
Open to the LGBTQ+ community
Bottoms-optional for all

Naked in Motion is excited to announce our Queer-Only (bottoms-optional) Naked! Yoga class! The instructors will teach an invigorating yoga class followed by a relaxing meditation (about 75 minutes total). Come join us in a radical act of self-care and self-acceptance.

This class is specifically open to folks who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, or another word along the queer spectrum. PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR LIST DOES NOT INCLUDE "ALLIES"; while allies are important, being an ally is an activity, not an identity. For anyone who doesn't identify in this way, please come to our regular all-gender classes, the details of which you can find at nakedinmotion.com/events.

In an effort to create a safer space for members of the LGBTQ+ community,
everyone in the class has the option to wear bottoms for any reason
.
Please note that this is a special allowance for this class, as our bottoms policy is different for all other Naked in Motion classes. Menstruation doesn’t necessitate wearing bottoms: feel free to use any menstrual management tools.
Also, please make use of items you’d like to wear to affirm your gender (e.g. binders, chest pieces, packers).
Everyone should be an active, willing participant and at least 18 years old.

About the instructors

A 200 RYT, Dean is passionate about movement, community, and feeling good in your skin no matter how you wear it. Dean was introduced to yoga at the age of 11 and started a personal practice in hir first year of college. Three years later ze discovered acroyoga, the amalgamation of acrobatics, yoga, and thai massage, and as Ze fell in love with movement, decided to pursue teaching. Yoga for Dean has been a challenging and rewarding journey of self exploration and discovery. Dean is excited to be with the NiM team teaching the art ze loves, in hopes that it can help others heal and feel at home in their own body.

Calvin.jpeg

Calvin credits his almost twenty year practice of yoga for helping him to counteract the demands of modern day living. He wishes to impart this to others saying, “If I could help foster even half the goodwill, serenity, and self-acceptance in others that I have experienced in some yoga classes, then I will consider myself a successful yoga teacher indeed!” Calvin brings his extensive background as a performer to his teaching, having performed as an actor/singer in and around the Boston area and internationally with Cirque du Soleil.  He is also an accomplished group fitness instructor teaching Zumba, kickboxing, muscle conditioning, and aqua fitness classes. Calvin feels fortunate that his ashtanga vinyasa based yoga teacher training ingrained in him the importance of breath in movement, and movement in breath.  He looks forward to seeing you in one of his classes soon.

As a mover (and shaker) of many years, Liz' yoga practice has been quietly manifesting over time, and she is so grateful to be able to share the gems of the practice with anyone who joins her! As a Black, queer woman, she thinks of her classes as a call for students that never imagined themselves on the mat, AND those that discovered the magic of flowing many moons ago. When she's not on the mat, you can find Liz dancing professionally, performing, running stuff as an arts organizer/administrator, plotting to the escape the winter, and or enjoying her time to do absolutely nothing at home in Brooklyn.
